Job Description: The 3rd Engineer is the designated maintenance officer and he is directly responsible for the maintenance and repair of all ships machinery, the cleanliness and organization of the various engineering spaces. This individual reports to the Chief Engineer and will take direction from the Chief Engineer with regards to the overall safe and incident free operation and maintenance of all machinery of the vessel. This position requires a minimum of a limited USCG Merchant Mariners 3rd Engineer's License for motor vessels of size of no less than 1600 GT / 3000 ITC; valid TWIC card; valid passport; valid MMD (Zcard); STCW training. Prior experience as a 2nd Engineer with a minimum of 3 years sailing required. |
