Job Description:
Leading maritime services company currently accepting qualified applicants for the following pending position:
Welder
Functions:
Welds and cuts ferrous and non-ferrous metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, motors and generators, marine construction, etc., according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing, MIG, TIG, HY-80, and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding. Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts. Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products required prior to welding. May locate and repair cracks in marine engine cylinder heads, using inspection equipment and gas torch.
Education:
High school graduation or equivalency certification plus certifications appropriate to the job (i.e.,
American Bureau of Shipping, United States Coast Guard, American Welding Society) are required.
Experience:
a. A total of at least six years’ experience performing the foregoing functions.
b. At least two years of the foregoing total experience shall have been performed within the marine industry.
