Job Description: Assistant Engineer / QMED position aboard Oil Spill Response Vessel. Implements and performs daily engine room work, watch standing and preventive maintenance schedule as directed by Chief Engineer. Is responsible for safe operation of all main propulsion and auxiliary systems. Maintains electronic database of maintenance items and purchase orders. Qualifications: Licensed AE of any HP or DDE 4000 HP or higher preferred but QMED/Oiler with STCW 95 certification, TWIC and relevant experience also considered. A good working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, tankerman PIC and diesel experience are a plus. Ability to function and adapt in emergency situations is key.
