Job Description: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •Creating a safety culture throughout the organization. •Providing operational and technical management oversight of all vessels. •Issuing and updating marine procedures and implements throughout entire fleet. •Coordinating with employees, surveyors, inspectors and other parties to ensure the vessels comply with local, national, and international rules, laws and regulations together with classification requirements. •Monitoring vessel performance to ensure they are serviced maintained and records updated in respect to all aspects of hull, machinery and any other technical areas/matters in conjunction with Senior Manager, Engineering. •Acting as Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) and Safety Officer. •Directing the purchase of spares parts, stores, new equipment and services. •Reviewing disbursement accounts with respect to supplies and technical expenditures. •Directing daily operations of all site locations by monitoring staff requirements, ensuring facility and vessel safety through inspection, interacting with staff, and facilitating operations meetings and training. •Directing special projects by interacting with customer and outside vendors, performing cost analysis estimates, preparing schedules, and approving finished work and payments. •Recommending competency and licensing profiles for marine personnel to Human Resources. •Participating in customer and business development meetings. •Reviewing department performance against performance measures; establishes initiatives to achieve goals and objectives. •Overseeing and monitoring the effectiveness and quality of programs in achieving Company goals and standards; provides summaries of system effectiveness. •Keeping current on industry standards, practices and methodologies, as well as regulatory marine requirements. •Developing departmental standards, procedures, and systems. •Developing the strategic vessel management plan •Handling crew discipline and personnel claims in conjunction with Human Resources. •Assisting the President and Senior Managers as required •Completing special projects as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE •Must have at least 10 years experience in the marine/energy sector with strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills. •Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree is required •MBA will be an advantage, but not required •The individual must have a positive “can-do, will-do” attitude •Good planning, organizing and management skills with a strong sense of corporate responsibility and commitment •Ability to pursue new business opportunities with a global outlook and willingness to travel worldwide •Must have a proven track record in business development and business acumen •The successful candidate will be required to exercise advanced PC skills Location: Houston, TX; Ingleside, TX; Pascagoula, MS Travel Involved: 40% |
