Job Description:
A challenging and rewarding opportunity now exists for a highly motivated crewmember, experienced in the following position:

1st, 2nd and 3rd Assistant Engineer/ DPO


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for working under the direction of the chief engineer to ensure all machinery, electrical and technical areas of the vessel are kept clean and in good operating condition at all times. Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out in all engineering areas in order to reduce repair and maintenance costs and eliminate down time.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Familiar with all engineering areas and machinery
• Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of specific items of machinery and equipment as directed by chief engineer
• Responsible for daily operations of the engine department under direction of chief engineer
• Ensure Chief Engineer is kept informed of the status of all equipment and work accomplished, including any ISM non-conformities
• Keep detailed engine room logs noting all failures, maintenance and repair done to equipment
• Carry out regular maintenance on main engines and similar equipment, repair defective auxiliary equipment, implementing and keeping current on a preventative maintenance schedule
• Maintain engine room stores and record usage of parts and equipment
• Ensure the operations of the vessel does not lead to pollution
• Supervise major work while the ship is in port
• Handle ships IT systems including hardware/software, networking and network security


PROFILE
• unlimited hp
• Minimum of three years experience serving on a DP vessel in position
• IT hardware/software/networking experience
• Valid B1/B2 or C1/D Visa
• STCW 95 Certification
• Results oriented, self-starter with a high level of initiative
• Strong ability to organize and communicate with others
• Strong work ethics, values and principles with safety the first priority
• Interest in environmental awareness/outreach activities
